I'm using GIMP 2.8 on Windows 10, and I tried the currently accepted answer from Juha. While GIMP did rebuild its font cache when I reloaded the program, the fonts I wanted were still not available. In the end, I had to copy the .ttf files to C:\Users\[username]\.gimp-2.8\font If we have tried to install a different font, GIMP may not recognize it by default. In that case, what we should try is to copy it directly to the program's source folder to try to recognize it, although it is not guaranteed. To do this, the first thing we will do is find out what is the default GIMP directory Hello Everyone: I am having problem with GIMP not recognizing newly installed fonts. I download and install the font - by default it installs in the Windows system font library (C:\Windows\Fonts), and it is recognized by other programs. However, GIMP does not find it, even after refreshing the fonts list and restarting GIMP Gimp is not recognizing the majority of the fonts. This is on a brand-new SSD hard drive. I only mention this because on the old one (which died), all the fonts showed up just fine. Gimp is recognizing all the fonts that start with A, B, or C, but nothing beyond that. It doesn't even recognize Times New Roman

During the conversion from SVG to LaTeX as Inkscape carries out, all the positions are changed to absolute X, Y values, thus your alignments are lost in the conversion, as it does not recognize it. However, I cannot get X11 to recognize the font path. You can probably hack configuration files here and there to make it accept fonts, although Apple's X11 doesn't have a real XF86Config file. It might also work if you put fonts in /Library/Fonts. Best advice is to find a font which is made with the face you need. For Inkscape versions 0.91 and above, Inkscape no longer tries to simulate different faces, because it's simulation wasn't true anyway. So if your font won't go bold or italics, you'll need to find a font which is made with those faces Double line which does not cross the 'S'. Single line crossing the centre stroke of the 'S'. Hi. This is more a user question than developer question, I hope. Although I've used gimp-print from GIMP, I've not needed to do any configuration before. My brother has installed a HP PSC 1210 PPD in SuSE 8.2. In the gimp-print preview, however, it doesn't offer this printer in the list of available models . This open-source program works on Windows, Mac and Linux OS Unfortunately, it appears that this printer doesn't use the standard printing language for printers of this type (PCL); it instead uses a proprietary JetReady protocol, which we don't have a way to support. Perhaps someone else will have other ideas, but I don't have a good answer for you
